ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The Senior SAP BASIS Consultant is responsible for installing, configuring, and managing SAP software on various operating systems and databases. They oversee daily operations, ensuring optimal performance and security. Key duties include user administration, performance monitoring, backup and recovery, system integration, and transport management. Utilizing SAP BASIS tools, they monitor system health, resolve issues, and automate administrative tasks, ensuring seamless SAP system functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and Configuration: Basis administrators handle installing and configuring SAP software on various operating systems and databases.
• System Management: They oversee the day-to-day operations of the SAP system, ensuring smooth functioning and optimal performance. This includes tasks like user administration, security management, performance monitoring, and backup and recovery procedures.
• Integration: Basis plays a vital role in integrating SAP applications with other enterprise systems and external data sources.
• Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer sessions to empower end-users and facilitate adoption of SAP S/4 HANA PS solutions.
• Transport Management: Basis administrators manage the movement of code updates, configurations, and data across different SAP systems within a landscape. This ensures consistency and minimizes errors.
• Basis Tools: They utilize various SAP Basis tools for monitoring system health, identifying and resolving issues, and automating administrative tasks. System & messages monitoring.

Education and Qualification / Skills and Competencies.

• Strong understanding of SAP architecture: This includes knowledge of SAP components, communication protocols, and data management.
• Operating System and Database expertise: Basis administrators need to be familiar with the operating systems and databases that SAP runs on.
• Scripting Languages: Skills in scripting languages like ABAP can be beneficial for automating tasks and customizing configurations.
• Basic Networking Knowledge: Understanding network protocols and security is essential for seamless system integration.
• Provide remote/onsite SAP consulting services to key SAP customers on innovation products, mainly SAP BASIS.
• Demonstrate the ability to plan, run, and manage workshops/meetings with internal and external clients.
• Execution of innovation portfolio serving as primary contact from Customer Success service areas to deploy and implement solutions.
• Proceed with IMG configuration, design/execute implementation packages (Best practices implementation guides).
• Get involved with customer scenarios, be able to understand business needs and discuss best approaches to help them.
